Motor Assembky Help, XR200 head gasket

I'm in the shop as I type assembling my motor. I have a xr 200 piston and cam going in a 185. When I ordered the parts for the topend I just ordered the XR200 gaskets but the head gasket is a 3 peice unit riveted together, and will only allow me to use 2 of the 3 locating dowels and no pllace for the right rear O- ring. I have a compllete gasket kit coming next week. Should I wait? or hasanyone used the XR200 head gasket before?

You NEED that oring so the cam gets oil, better wait a bit............

I wonder how the XR200 got oil? external pipe??

OK... I figured I should wait. I'm not too sure. on the ATC gasket the hole in the gasket on the right rear dowel is larger than the dowel to allow for the O ring... right? the XR gasket will just clear the dowel, and one of the dowels on the left side of the motor won't go through the gasket.

If I'm correct, when you use an OEM headgasket,in steel,3 pieces riveted.you have to remove the oring and a dowel pin.I have bought a gasket from honda a couple year ago and I think I have see this information in the gasket package.

Yes that is correct. With the new metal gaskets from Honda you don't use the o-ring and you have to remove a dowel. Mine came with a diagram when I bought it for my 200x last year.
