    Wink 84 yamaha 225dx idling problems

    the only way it runs is with a sock over the carb. any suggestions?

    A sock??? WTF????? Does it have a air cleaner? Clean the carb out.
    Hey, What other dangerously fun vehicles can I Cram in my 2and1/2-car shop? (Garage.)

    Please fill us in. Need more info. Are you saying with the stock setup (airbox and lid on) the trike will not idle, but if you run a sock as a filter direct off the carb it runs just fine?

    Im missing the tube that connects the carb to the airbox so put the sock on and it idles fine, drives fine at high speeds. you think i just need that tube? and its gotta motorcycle throttle on it . dont know if that stock. i didnt think so

    So your air filter is not hooked up. That's your problem. Get the tube so your not sucking crap into your carb. It needs the resistance of the air filter to idle.
