KLT 200 (Duckster) stuck in gear- Please Help

stuck in 3rd or 4th, not sure which gear it was in when it became un-shiftable, is it going to require a tear down to assess the problem or is there a chance of being able to un-stick it without? thanks for any input.

that happened with mine! My shifter shaft broke. When you pull up on the lever does it go a lot higher than normal? Theres was a little tab on mine that broke off. try not to run it until you see if that broke because i can imagine that if the little piece of steel gets in the trans or something what will happen. Mines not a Duckster but it is a KLT 200 C. Probablly best thing to do is pull off the right side cover( the opposite of the shifter.) and then move shifter up and down and see what it does.
