Just change your oil, make sure there is freeplay at the clutch actuator lever and hope for the best. A cable that hangs up will harm the clutch, lube the cable up well.
We can't all afford expensive clutches. Tanks bought a 45$ sprocket chain set and I though the chain would stretch more - maybe in time!! I still gave him crap though!!
I dump 130$ on clutch kits (OEM and or Barnett) and don't touch them for 10 years with HEAVY abuse..........From a 200lb guy.
You'll smell it if its slipping....... Lever freeplay is NOT the same as freeplay at the actuator!!

I set it to spec via. the manual... Seems to grab hard, and have good firm shift pressure to it... Guess I will take it gentle for a few days, then give her hell... (currently running valvoline atv 10w30) Fresh oil and filter... Soaked the disc's for a few hours before install...

If it's gonna slip, it will NOW. Did you do fibers, steels and springs?? I hope so, you were in there so..........
I put clutches in, warm them up and beat the ever living snot out of them immediately. Then change the oil. Heat is your enemy, it can make a clutch slip, then the plates blue and warp blah blah blah........... No oil additives either and guess what, I run Walmart 9$ for 5 quarts but change it every 10 hours or so and a filter every other change.
in 24 years, some of which I was stupid (still debatable) and the rest I learned what was up but I have NEVER burn't out a clutch, blown a headgasket or blew a motor (DC knocks on wood)
I still have crate motors yet to use!! Die already will ya!!
IDK about your clutch but I won't even run a Vesrah clutch although they may be fine................

I didnt replace the steels... Spec'd them out and they measured fine... Scuffed them with some 220 grit to break the glaze, and cleaned them well... Was nice to get a chance to pull the oil screen oil and clean the crud out of that... New clutch and springs feel really good, very firm and solid grabbing... I will beat them for a hour or so, and drop the oil and filter... Thanks for the input DC!

I hope your OK, I always just junk the steels and springs too............
Just too much work for another 40$ give or take and they do warp. They tell you to put them on a perfectly flat surface , like a "ground granite plate" and try to get feeler gauges under them.
I think allot of us are hurting $$ wise so lets just hope you ok![]()

I hope the steels will be ok! I did a set of KBC heavy duty springs while I was in there... Supposedly 20% heavier than stock.... They were certainly beefier than the old Honda ones. Bigger coils, and didn't have 25 years of service on them.
