You thought trike prices were high in your area.

Been looking to pick up a 2nd trike. I got mine from a guy i worked with. $300, didnt run, he said it did. 3 brand new tires on it. Know that i got it running i could resell it and retire early. Check out these.
    85 250r, needs brake work, $2200

    brand new tires

New tires on a non runner is a good sign usually.

or just means we get 150$ worth of tires for 300 plus a bunch of parts we don't need or will ever use.

For us in oregon, a few grand for a quad just doesn't make sense.

Personally, I'd rather wind up with a couple grand in a trike that I know will go anywhere and do what I want and when.

"'R" prices are all over the board. Most have been beaten but treated well, or beaten and meticulously maintained in various predictable stages of failure and are still a couple grand.

big reds are a safe bet around here.

85 and newer Low hour, one owner, key and title, could use a few hrs on carb and tank and general neglected stuff say 8-1200, maybe 1500.

I've seen a lot of Canadian boardies on here complaining about prices through the roof like. I'm pretty lucky around here. i just saw an 86 Tecate on craigslist for sale for $950. I wish i had the money for that because even here that was a steal. But around here when 250R's, Tri Z'z and Tecates do pop up, they are reasonable priced. Of those 3 I just listed, 250R's are almost always abale to be found. They sell for $1200 to $1500 in excellent shape all the time. Tri Z's don't pop up very often and Tecates even less but they are still reasonable when they do come up.

The real problem is, if i find a mint 250R for $1500 and i don't have $1500 to pay for it, it might as well be a $1,000,000.

Prices arnt that bad im in Britsh Columbia Canada, that is of course for the big reds and stuff but my buddy sold his mint 350x for $4000 to a guy in alberta and te guy shipped it out there as well I wouldnt sell my 85 250r with Nos engine for less than $4500 because you don't find the 250r's around much the only one I have ever seen was not running for $1000 (mine now with NOS motor now) but u only see like 2-3 350x's a year and they usually sell in a couple hours and 200x's I got the only one I have ever seen on Vancouver island and it wasnt even posted in the classified I was preety luck I have gotten more of the rare ones in my area and 250es got for $2500-$3500 in ok-mint shape. Prices are defiantly different here in Canada in comparison to the states etc.

This thread was from June of LAST year........
This is my trike. There are many like it but this one is mine. My trike is my best friend, and it is my life. I must master it as I must master myself. My trike without me is useless. Without my trike, I am useless. I must ride my trike true. My trike and I know that what counts is not the amount of miles we ride, but the time we ride together. My trike is human in it's own ways, therefore I will learn it as my brother. I will learn it's weaknesses, it's strengths, it's parts, and it's soul.

I ran into some hard times last year so I had to sell my 85 350x that was in good shape. Ended up selling it for $1000 and when the guy asked for me to text him a pic of it he called right back and said he would be here asap that he wanted it. When he got her loaded up he tells me his dad just bought one blown up and plastic in horrible shape for $1400. WTF!!! Shoulda told him the missed a zero in the classifieds. Ha ha, boy do I miss that trike!! Damn mortgage!

Prices seem to be way down from that. There's a Tri-Z in great shape around the corner from me for $750, a Tri Zinger in pretty sweet shape for $600, and 3.5 Big Reds in fair shape for $1500. I've also seen a Tri moto 175 for $300 locally, 85-86 250Rs for anywhere from $1100 to $2K, and a running riding ATC110. Patience is key, I picked up a running 83 Suzuki DR125 for $60, and a spiffy 85 LT185 with mint fenders for $300, both out of the paper version of the buy & sell.
