To do list for my 200x $$$$ :(

its going to be a slow and painful but pleasuring time for me to fix my 200x fully.
i say painful because its going to cost hundreds of dollars.

this is what im going to do to the engine,

1 bore the cylinder with a high compression piston and bigger sleeve

    2 get the crank stroked

    3 replace the valves

    4 replace the rocker arms

5 get the head ported and polished

    6 jet the carb

    7 buy new exhaust

    8 replace the clutch

9 replace anything that will effect the performance

    is there anything im missing?
im doing most the work i bought a service manual 2 days ago and now i need the tools and have to
send the crank and cylinder in to get it redrilled and bored by POWROLL.
i only get paid so much per week so this will take forever but it will be nice to have my 200x running properly.

any one got any suggestions on this engine build please tell me.
after this im going to post a restoration for the bike which wont cost nearly as much!!!

Will need race fuel and a good cam. Also may want a bigger carb, instead of just jetting the stock one.

Race cam, if thats what you want.... Timing chain and guides.

    Oil pump.

Don't bore it too much, the liner gets pretty thin.....

Never really used it, maybe add octane booster to the best gas you can get locally? Someone more experienced in this area would need to answer.

But av-gas (aviation gas from any local airport) may work. Should be available for maybe 12 cents more per gallon....may be wrong on the current price but usually isn't too much more expensive that gas stations' 'premium' gas.

Once you cross the 11:1 ratio on compression you need to run race gas..
    Own 86 250sx
    85 350x
    sold 86 250sx
    110, 185s, 200s, 250es

I can tell you that 10.5 to 1 runs fine on premium gas. Extreme cams have more overlap and require higher compression to work properly.
    84 200x

12:1 is NOT GOOD on old cranks. So, unless your rebuilding that crank and installing new main bearings, get yourself a 10.5:1 and a mid range cam. ST exhaust and a carb a couple MM's larger and leave the airbox lid off.

    IMHO, thats your best option.....

I would stick with Dirtcrashers advice. Bigbore's and high cmpression on a 200X make them very unreliable.
I would stay mild on the compression and cam, maybe like a stage one grind, If your cylinder is ok then only go one bore over. Deffinately get a larger carb. 26 to 28 mm should work. Try to find a supertapp exhaust. Best sound and performance. Cost more but worth it.

I never ran the mikuni myself I bought the bike as a basket case, but it did have a kerker pipe and a big cam so it should be a good carb to run for your application
