Does anyone know how to do this or better yet does anyone have a swingarm ready to go? I will by it right now. HELP! oh and to top it all off i cant get the axle nuts off to replace the carrier bearings(this i do know how to do). I need to finish this thing by july 4th and its still a frame!!!! HELP!!!!

PB Blaster seems to get things loose for me that are rusted. Sounds like this is your problem. The swinger bearings are needle bearings and most likely will all fall out of the cage once you get the pivot bolt out. big and a punch.

I used a 1/4 wide flat chisel to between the swingarm & the baring. This colapses it to the center and eventually will come out. You just have to take your time and with caution not to bugger up the inside of the swingarm. I don't own a press or torches to heat it up so this method worked for me.

You will be surprised what a little rust penetrant will do. Once you get the collars out, the needles will fall out of the cage. Once this happens, you can take a dremel tool or other cutting tool and cut a groove in the outer race. Cut all the way through the race, you may hit the swinger but that is ok. Once you are through the race, it will fall out. Like I said, you may cut a small groove into the swinger but it will be fine. Just don't cut all the way through it!!!

I just did my 85r axle bearings and you have too look very close for C-clips. I know there is at least one, maybe two,as far as the axle nuts make sure you find out if either one is reverse thread,I had help when I did mine so I'm not sure.

Ya smash everything out that you can. New ones, I grease the outside too so they never get locked up in there.

Anyhow, for me, after I smash everything the hell, I use a Dremel with a grinding disc and grind one side down. It turns blue as your getting it thinner because of the heat. Then a small point tool, like an awl (I have punches) and pry the outer cage away from the aluminum bore, and bend them in; Then I can smash them out.

Even the new bearings, I can pull them in with 3/8 -24 rod cut down with nuts/washers and collars/spacers but I grease the outside, heat the swinger a bit and pull them in place. If the socket or adapter you use isn't just a tiny bit or few thousandths smalller than the bearing OD, you can damage them on the install. It's really not any easy thing like front wheel bearings and seals. If the bearing has any markings, I face that outwards.....

    Good luck

Get some help or send it out!! :beeer

Bump. Does anyone know where I can find the spacers that go on the swingarm pivot bolt? I'm sure these are discontinued but are there reproductions or does someone know the specs so I can get some at like home depot or something. I'm stressed right now cause this damn swingarm is my only obsticle to keep me from eing ready by july 4th.
