If I remember right, the easy powervalve swap started in 83, and went to 87 I believe. Im not saying the 82 wont work, but mat be a sligtly different design than the 83? Check out bikebandit, and see if the parts involved look different.

This would be a good time for people to promote the Big Bore Z kit to a virgin user- No power valve just tons of power and hopefully the reliability is there without any issues..................
Contact ATC-ERIC !! He has a # you can call him at and set stuff up.
No ideaof the cost or whether he uses your cylinder or ???????
If yours is on the stock bore,, I'd keep it and grab an EBAY special. They may have some ready to rock and roll![]()

All our government does is distract us while they steal from us, misspend our tax $ and ruin our country
I belive the 83 and 84 are the YZ topends that swap out onto the tri-z (tri-z head needed) Thats what my tri-z has. They run perty dang good for a Z.
ive talked to ATC-ERIC in the past about a bigbore but i just dont have the money right now, i have about $250 to sped to get my z running. the stock cylinder has a junk sleeve (nice crack in it) & i cant find a good deal on another cylinder.
