What are some minor performance upgrades I can do to my 250sx? carb, exhaust + tires?

My 1985 250sx is running pretty good now. But I know it needs some upgrades to make me happy.

What are some decent performance upgrades I can do to the trike without tearing the engine apart.
I was told a 350x carb will work?

I was thinking that and an exhaust, plus some 25" tires. BUt don't know what brand.

    Need recommendations to confirm.

    NOS Bassani exhaust

Put that Bassani exhaust on it with a UNI filter in the airbox, leave the lid off (depending on where you ride). Rejet the carb. Mucho gooder.
    Rides:
1986 ATC250R (sectional pipe and Klemm Research silencer)
1986 ATC250R (Desert Bike, WAX-ON seat, Dual Cibie lights, Steering Stabilizer)
1979 ATC110 (Bandito frame and forks, Turbo wheels, disc braked)
    1982 ATC70 (Lifan manual 125)
    1987 LT80 (piped, widened)

249.00, wow, he might get it, too. Chris, if you do the 350x carb, I think you use the stock SX jets(?) and you'll need to open up the exhaust. The only cheap option(& they're probably not so cheap nowadays) is Cobra. I hear it makes a noticable difference.

The difference between Bassani and Cobra is like diamonds and cubic zirconia. I apologize for giving him an option.

^^ Gotta agree with Doug, dont wreck a trike by putting cobra on it... They are just obnoxious.
No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!

Wasn't going to do a cobra no matter what. Only thing I am afraid of breaking the exhaust studs off.

    What about tires? Any recomendations.

I don't think you can change the gear ratio so you are limited to sticking close to the stock size. What terrain will you be riding primarily?

I only ride trails with it really. Nothing high speed or anything but there are some steep hills.
I was thinking 25" tires? Is that too big for it? I don't know what width to get though.

I love that exhaust.. Wish I could swing that much currently but I have to sell one of the atv's I have to get that.

I would think 25" tires could work no problem. The gearing may be slightly different than a Big Red which has 25" tires, but one guy put 30" silverbacks on a Big Red.

I will hopefully have 30's on mine, but that will be a TRX300 engine + big bore + gear reduction.

    The Bassani exhaust already sold...

The gearing is quite a bit difference from a big red I noticed. To go to 25" tires I need to go to 9" wheels as well.

Need the best choice for tires now.

I ride some mud/swamp. Trials have some steep inclines here and there and some logs. Need something agressive . Not concerned about speed or sliding them.
