3 wheeler on how its made

i was watching how its made on the science channel, they have a 2009 episode on ATVs. this tour was on the Polaris factory and mainly on the hawkeye 300 and sportsman 400.
in the beginning they gave history saying atvs started in the 70s, they were 3 wheeled machines. later the "safer" 4 wheeled machine took its place....

at the end of the atv segment they showed the first atvs made from polaris and they show a prime factory new condition scrambler 250 trike. its CLEAN. lol

just thought i would mention and if you catch it wait till the end. lol

+1 on that Thorpe. I hate them. CVT belongs on a minibike (Briggs engine), not a quad. The old Cyclone and original Trailboss 2X4 was good, but I hate working on them, too many adjustments.
I would make every Polaris Quad an auto, except the Predator 500.

The Polaris 250 auto 3-wheeler will almost hang with a 350X on the drag strip.
They are certainly no slouch in the acceleration dept.

keeps money rolling in to the factory. :buy our "american" made ATVs they are awesome: then you spend 600 dollars a year on parts.

    Yep,

I hear tell thru the rumer mill there MIGHT be a 250 auto class @ next years Trikefest drags
I will do just as I have in years past. Wash up the P-3, stick it away for 51 weeks and I am sure just like I done 2 weeks ago, hit the starter and it will fire right up.
Yep, horrible to work on, ugly only a mother could love for sure,,,, people wonder why I have turned downed GOOD money for mine for 3 plus years at trikefest meets from the same 2 individuals every time ~ can't say why - don't know ?
Having had 350x machines of my own, my money is on my "stock as it gets" P-3 in 300 feet,,,, period.

We have an 87 Trailboss quad. That is one heavy son-of-a-. But it is a runner! Hard to start in the cold. I hate the braking systems on the trailboss in those years. Overall they are pretty strong and reliable, and I have been trying to find a scrambler to match the quad but no such luck How it's made is a cool show that has it's ups and downs. Thanks for sharing.

my wife's quad is a 92 250 trailboss 2x4. runs good, handles good, pretty quick. but it just has a rickety thing going. and the brake system? not so good. but overall a decent machine.
