my 86BR makes diff oil looks like coffee with milk in it a nice brown oil, what could cause this?(and no it doesn't smell like coffee it reeks like gear oil)

you've got water in it, probably have bad seals and maybe bearings if it's been in there long enough.

check you seals and as said inspect the bearings, on my 250 sx i change my diff fluid often as it see`s alot of water and mud. for the little amount it takes its a good practice.
