    350x oil pump rebuild

I'm rebuilding a spare engine I have to swap in. I want to replace / rebuild the stock oil pump. I was going to get a 300ex pump, but new they are $131 and I don't know if I trust a used one. If you go on bike bandit they have the inner and outer rotors for $28 total. Is it the case that gets damaged or the rotors? I'm assuming the case otherwise more people would be talking about this. Do you guys trust a 10-12 year old 300ex pump? (all I'm finding on ebay)

Well, #1 where are you getting it??

Service Honda cannot be a 131$ assembly...... Or am I F/N nutz?? You still have to swap the drive gear and or the shaft for it to work.

Don't get a used one, it's no better than the stock 350X or too bad you missed the guy parting all the crate motors. Wasn't cheap, but new was nice!

I'll part one of my crate motors, send bids my way 500$ for the head/cam and rocker box

200$ for the oil pump and all related parts.

    NO EBAY!!, just MY WAY!!

They are expensive no matter how you slice it. My 200x oil pump was over $100 but I figured if I was already spending more than that rebuilding the top end it would be worth it. Plus it will last another 25 years

what makes you think you need a new pump? I use to restore vintage porsche motors and would use OLD pumps with OLD gears and htey still would make 60psi... i wouldnt replace it

EVERYONE I've talked to on here said they've never seen a 25 year old 350x motor with a good oil pump. If I had an oil pressure gauge to know that my pump is working, I wouldn't worry about it, but I'm putting $700 worth in parts in this engine and don't want to hope that the pump is working.

id just check to make sure the pump is moving freely and doesnt have any burrs or deep scarring. if you got the bucks then do it, otherwise i doubt if it didnt seize its probably still good

My 87 200X pump was under 50$, thats what led me to think 131$ was too high.......

I give you credit for WANTING to change it...... We don't have an easy way to check the pressure, no port etc etc.
