i need some help i am new to trikes. my wife's grand paw gave me a 83 200x and 2- 82 200 and i got the 200x here and he ran it about 7 years again and ran fine..i change the plug and gap it right and clean the carburetor and i kick it over and it sputtered for about 10 sec and it cut off and i try again this morning and it did that on the second kick.. can yall help me i will be so happy if yall can thanks matt

When your kicking it over are you giving it a little throttle when your kicking?

not today i did not i did that yesterday and i think i flooded it b/c i pulled the plug out and it smelled like gas

Teaching quads a lesson
When you kick it over, give it gas this time. The idle could be set too low. Don't be surprised if it roars to life like a screaming gorilla

but it seems that the kick start does not give it enough rotations for the motor..i check for spark and it had a big blue spark so i know that is good..the 82 200 has pull start i need got to them yet that is my next project ..first i want to get this one running and no one around will work on them

Get a new spark plug . Buy an NGK . It probably sat so long that its lacking in compression (sticky or stuck rings) you might need to pull or push start it to get it fired up and once it warms up all might be good .

I put a NGk plug in it brand new I took it out and it had a little black on it

Put it in 2nd gear and try bumping it from about a jogging pace.
My 200x from a full kick only turns over about 2 times btw.

well update it started today i put a full tank of gas in it.yesterday i only had a little thought that will get it running but did not so i filled it up today and ran like a champ it is no smoking..ran real good thanks everyone for yall input on it i will post pics of it thank you all

ya gas is pretty important ! i had the same problem with my 200X checked everym damn thing except the friggin gas oh well to be old and wise we first must be young and foolish i would clean the carb a couple more times and clean out the petcock too
