restoring a 350x gas tank

what is that junk you guys are spraying on the inside of these? Krylon? Kremyl? I cant for the life of me remember what you guys are using to re seal these tanks!

I think what your thinking of is kreme. I hear the por.15 tank sealant is the way to go though.

I'm in the process of fixing a tank as we speak with the POR-15 system. I'll let this forum know how it turns out!

I redid a 200x tank that was pretty rusted inside. I used (walmart) distilled vinigar 2 gallons & 2 oz of rock salt. Shook it around for a few hours here and there. Then let it sit for about 12 hours. I hosed it out and it was really clean. Important: when you get most of the water out soak the inside with WD40 or something like that once you have 90% of the water out. If you don't it will rust up lightly within hours.

It cost like $8 i think. maybe less i bought 4 gallons. & i had rock salt.

I'm no tree hugger but this was a cool way not have to buy some type of chemical.

Kreme sucks... I removed a Kreme kit from my BR tank, and redid it with a por-15 kit...

thanks man! so wat do you do to prep the tank or is that all included in the kit?

It's all included. You can see in the top pic there is a bottle of cleaner and acid that comes with it.
