Would this be a good deal?

Its an 85R, guy says it runs/rides great, plastics good etc. $1200. He says the only thing wrong is a small leak from the transmission. What would this be and is it major? Also if I bought it for this price to resell would there be room for profit? Heres the add..

Think it looks good. $1200 is a fair price. Find out where the oil leak is before you commit. Broken cases are a lot more involved then just a new shift seal ect.

It seems pretty cheap to me for a liquid R, so cleaned up with nothing wrong how much do you think it could pull in?

250R's are getting cheaper day by day. Everyday I see or hear of a R selling for $1000-1600.The market is gone and doesn't look like it'll be back for awhile.as an investment I wouldn't do it but as a rider as long as that case isn't cracked go for it.

I wouldn't worry about it....It's probably gone now anyway since you alerted everyone here by posting the add.....I'm guessin most here wouldn't do that but there are plenty of lurkers....

IMO theres just not much room for profit in most trike deals. Unless your getting a killer deal from your buddy or something. Its just the way it goes with three wheelers.

Edit: If you want the r to ride offer him a grand. If your looking to make money... I don't know save your grand lol.

Why would you ask a bunch of guys who have never seen this bike what the transmission leak is? I have a guess- it could be the gyromascapy.

I just bought it today! Just Kidding. Good deal? Perhaps... But the likelyhood to drive from Lakeville all the way up to Princeton and back with a truck, would probably eat up any potential profits.... If you want a pumper R, go for it...
No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!
