did you try timming it in ? also check the gap on the pulse generator .. if thats all good it could be the stator ..
down to parts because i no longer have a place to ride trikes.![]()
GIT IT RAAAGGGGG !!!!
Start checking the grounds... (turn the kill switch on?)
No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!

Make sure it's in neutral.
Make sure the kill switch is in "run".
Remove the spark plug from the engine, make sure the wire is connected tightly, use a a test wire to ground the base of the plug to the engine case, and crank the engine over - there should be spark visible across the plug gap. If there's not, try a new plug. Still no spark, break out the multimeter and start testing wires.
First one I'd test would be the high-voltage plug wire from the coil to the plug - remove it and test it for continuity. It should be a short (zero ohms) or very close to it. I had a bad spark plug boot (the 90 degree bend at the plug end) that was open, took me a while to figure that one out.
I have an 83 200e big red that has the same problem. I hope you get yours going so maybe I can try some of the same things....good luck there with yours.
