Stator flywheel alignment marks, need knowledge.

(85' Tecate) Put a magneto stator on and have notch marks lined up with case. In the first picture it shows how the flywheel is suppose to line up with the center mark. No matter where I move the kick starter to align the marks the magnets push the flywheel away as in the second picture (retards it), how do I line these marks up?, (my manuel doesn't help out by saying anything) or do I have to?

The V in the case is the referance point for the stator plate mark. Line them up and snug down screws. The fly will only go on one way if you use the keyway. The 3-lines on the fly are for verifying timing with use of a dial indicator. With you're set up. It's an unnecessary step, unless you're splitting hairs......
