    Need some input

I'm thinking about buying a new Honda trx700.

I currently own a 03 grizzly with a nice set of wheels, plow, winch, orginal wheels & tires. It has 2000 mile on it & needs 3 cv boots. It runs really well and have very little problem other than it being difficult to start from time to time or if you leave the gas on. Also i have an 85 200x complete and another 84 200x work in progress. I'd unload it all and buy 1 quad.

My question is the majority of riding i do are trails and some winter riding. Would a trx 700 be better than my quad i own now?

I am not really into going in to rivers streams or lots mud. I bought the grizzly to plow snow, but it's kinda a pain in the arse to hook the plow up and stuff. I own a snow blower too so it's not like i'll lose out.

depending on the size of the grizzly i would keep it. the 700 grizzly is fuel injected and power steering. and of cousre goes up wards of 70mph. the thinks a beast. but thats just my opinion. but like i said it depends on the size.

Opp's Mine is the 660 grizzly & No pwr steer. I have ITP 589 or 598 ( i don't recall ) tires. She's slow in the snow and i can get 54 to 56 mph that's about it on dirt.. The 2010 bruteforce 700 smokes mine on dirt and snow.

I was just looking for something sporty and the trx 700 caught my interest.

I was glancing at the 700 for a while. With the rear independent suspension the thing is really good on trails. Its sopposed to be a very nice quad for trail riding and has plenty of get up and go if your into that. I dont think you would be disapointed.

I see tons of 2008 trx 700's listed in CL. I was wondering why so many were listed. I don't hear a lot of negative stuff about them and wasn't sure if i was missing something.

I'm looking ot see if someone has ridden grizzly or equal and also has ridden the trx 700 and what the feed back might be.

The ones racing the 700XX rave about it.
I started out on a 88 zuki 4x4. The IRS is the best thing ever.
I'm sure you will love the 700 but IMO a 400ex is a wonderful machine for what your doing.

are you talking about the honda Rincon 675cc 4x4? or the trx700XX?
if the rincon (since your comparing to a grizz)
from what i have heard they are well handling and somewhat sporty for a big 4x4, the engine is just very lacking compared to its competitors.
don't expect it to be much/if any faster than a good running grizzly 660 with the correct tires (stock size)

everyone but Suzuki blows them away in a drag race for the big bore 4x4 class (grizz 700, can-am 800, polaris 850, kawi brute force 750, articat thundercat 1000, ect...)
but the honda is suppost to be better handling with its lower center of gravity.

as for the TRX700xx, i actually have some ride time on one as a buddy of mine just bought one last year. first thing he did was put maxxis razrs on it then left it stock.
i was very disappointed with the IRS (not much better ride for the weight and poor handling your taking on), its super heavy, handles poorly with the IRS compared to competitors (raptor 700, all the 450s and ltz 400 and 400ex) and like the Rincon the engine lacks a little. dont get me wrong its very fast, but not as fast as rap 700 or 450s. its about as fast as a rap 660 or peped up 400ex.

but for snow riding it does have alot of extra ground clearance with the IRS and bigger tires (22s on rear stock) and has the well engineered honda quality. the guy who owns it is very happy with it, its just not a racer, which is fine.

MR_RPM i own an 03 grizzly 600. I wanted a trx 700 to buy. Not a big fan of the honda 4x4's. I know they last forever, but they are much more utility all around.

Good advice so far and i just called a dealer somewhat close to me and asked why i didn't see a 2010-2011 trx700 listed. Come to find out it wasn't a big seller and it was designed to compete with the 4x4 market. I see a problem already with the limited production of trx700's right now. I just wanted something faster, so it seems like what i didn't want to do was to own a sport quad, a 4x4 quad & 2 honda trikes. It's a bit out of control. ha! I have run out of garage space now. I'm may just upgrade the old Grizz to the new Grizz700 or take LT80's advice and see if i can score a 400ex. They are a dime a dozen.

    thanks everyone!

so your talking about getting a TRX700XX then.
"Come to find out it wasn't a big seller and it was designed to compete with the 4x4 market" not sure who told you that but I'm not seeing how this machine was made to compete with 4x4s
its really its own thing. if anything its been partnered with the raptor 700
im my orginal post i didnt just talk about the rincon, i also brought up the XX i just wasent sure which model you were talking about. not many downgrade from 4x4 to 2 wheeldrive when they mainly do snow riding. so it confused me.
but as for a 2 wheeldrive, snow, trail, fast quad the 700xx will treat you well.

also, honda hasn't really put any 2010-11 ATVs in dealerships because they still haven't sold the 09 models. i know my local dealer hasn't for that reason and they normally get the new stuff right away

This dealer is called Rusty Palmers in PA. The salesman told me they aren't big sellers but he has 2 complete black 09's in the $6k range. I did find it odd that all i saw were utilities listed 01 & 11 for hondas & Sports up to 09.

That makes sense why i see no 01 & 11. They haven't sold 09 yets. Good point. Were so brainwashed to expect a new model every single year ya know.

I like raptors they just remind me if the old Chevy IROC days. You couldn't go to a school or car wash or anyplace for that matter and see one. ha! at least in NJ.

oh yeah i know, raptors, and banshees everywhere here! 450s too. thats another reason why the trx700xx would be cool, theres not to many around.
