    250r idle ?

I just got a 1983 atc 250r and when I start it up it seems to me to be idling to high. I tried turning the idle screw down but I didn't make a difference. I took the carb apart and cleaned the jets and still the same. is there something Im missing?
    thanks

x2, and also, make sure the slide is intalled in the carb correctly and of course check for a sticking cable.

and you mentioned adjusting the idle screw....are you adjusting the screw on the slide housing, or the small brass screw on the carb body? not trying to insult your intelligence, just making sure the bases are covered.
