    '86 350x max rpms?

    Well, i may be getting an '86 350x on a trade soon. It has a 10.25:1 piston, K@N filter and a full DG exhaust. It needs a cdi and i have been trying to find out what options i have. Ricks doesnt offer a CDI for the 350. But after some more digging, it seems a 400ex CDI will work on the '86 350x? BUT, i have read remarks discouraging the use of the stock 400ex CDI due to its rev limiter. Question is, how many RPMS should a stock 350x motor turn with its stock cdi? I saw a Ricks Hot Shot with a 10,400 limiter for sale on fleabay, would that be adequate? Also, if any gurus have anything more to say on the whole topic in general about using the 400ex cdi in the 350x, input is welcome.

    This should help. Max HP is made at 7k according to honda so 10.4k should be no problem.
