    BR electrical gremlins

I fired up and rode my '82 BR for the first time since 1996 today. The resto is complete! Unfortuntely I have some electrical issues.

    1. The headlight actually dims when the revs increase. What would cause this?
    2. The tail light doesn't light. I checked the bulb (multimeter OHMs test) and it's good. The socket is also good.

It's my understanding that both bulbs should be keeping in working order since there is no voltage regulator on these rigs and having one bulb go out will send excess energy to to the other.

The entire wiring harness was removed and cleaned during the resto and nothing looked bad/damaged.

The battery is brand new and tests good. Where should I start checking?

Do you have power at the tail light socket? Try taking the volage at the headlight socket too... Battery in good shape? (probably new, judging from the pics of your BR!)
No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!

Fixed it! I have no idea how though...BTW, Yeah, it was a new battery. Heck, I have NOS air in the tires. That stuff is spendy lol!

I had already checked voltage at the headlight and it was fine. I re-checked the tail light wiring and found a dirty connection where it unplugs from the harness. Once that was cleaned everything worked fine. The headlight doesn't dim with R's any more and the tail light works fine too. Go figure!
