Had some fun with the 1000 before parking it for the winter. Tire speed was over 100mph but my anchor couldn't hold it.

Nope, no front brakes at this time. Due to the new motor being slightly wider than stock I had to remove the rear brake pedal and instead run the rear brakes off of the right side handle bar lever. It works fine but when I have some time and ambition I will figure out how to get the rear brake back on the foot peg, reinstall the front brakes, and then the true burnouts can begin.

I haven't made much progress on the 1000 this winter due to my CNC plasma project taking up most of my garage time.

Now that it is mostly completed I have started thinking what parts I can cut out for the 1000x. I remember a while ago that someone suggested a custom guard for the oil cooler that hangs out right behind the front tire. This is what I have come up with so far. Sadly, I am not an artist so any suggestions are more than welcome....

you could replace the stock mudflap for the rear with a aluminum one that you cutout maybe with 350x or ATC cut out on each side.

Since I had it drawn up I figured I would give the ATC guard a run on a piece of scrap. I am not convinced that this is exactly what I was looking for. I might give "1000X" a try but I will have to figure out a clean way to cut a zero and keep the center of the zero intact.

Thorpe, I make it to BIR twice a year for the Show n Go and Muscle Car Shootout events. The 1000 is parked for the winter which really is too bad since I live about 200 yards from Lake Superior where there is an ice oval plowed all winter long. Maybe next year.
