Three Wheeler ban video complete copies??????

This has been a HUGE discussion with my children and wife since we started riding trikes again this last year. I remember my parents making me watch the 20/20 or dateline show even though they never "banned" me. I also remember some stupid guy on a 250r or something jumping a hill with no helmet, kids unsupervised ect. Does anyone have a complete copy of the program that I can download to a disc and sit with them and watch it. It would be worth a 1000 words if I could actually show them the stupid situations that were filmed and the real reason they were banned, they all need to undersatnd that it was from people NOT the machines themselves. Any help would be great!

    Thanks

The videos are rigged to make the ATC look dangerous, look at the slow motion video in part one, you can see the front tire is flat and the rider "Nelson" intensionally made the ATC crash, totally rigged. it's 3:25 in the video.

Yep, I bet I could make a nice and completely rigged video that will make millions of quad owners throw their quads away, and make it seem like quads are even more dangerous lol.

motoman011- My kids are 8(9) and 10(11). We had trouble with them on quads tipping and rolling. They do not wreck much on trikes now. We are very close because we are a triking family. Take a gander at my album and pick which pictures you think would show the best activities and fun you and your family are going to have. Some, my kids are riding the snot out of them and getting squirrely, so you may just want to show some of them for right now, but you will see the adventures we have with watersports and wildlife, this will help them see how a family bonds together riding.

Well said ATC King. Another thing I have always ment to ask Billy on the ban was how many ban members were elected to political office later? And the statistics on deaths and injury on the 20/20 show included 4-wheelers in with the 3-wheelers. Also per registered trikes of 1000 and registered quads of 1000, 3/1000 were killed on trikes, 9/1000 on quads- more people killed on quads. And canada is currently trying to ban large top-heavy quads because of the high flip-overs and deaths occuring, but what's done is done, and numbers don't matter now. The govt. thinks bank bail-outs was a great idea also!

whats sad is how many american people actually bought into that... Americans love to pass the blame for thier own negligence.. Everyone I know has either been hurt on or heard of someone being hurt on a atv... everyone knows the potential for injury. Big deal. The same could be said about any automobile.. More people have probably been in auto wrecks than anything else...but they still sell those... and stupid or irresponsible drivers still crash them... It pisses me off that I could go out right now and buy my young son a potentialy very dangerous skateboard or bicycle... but as an adult I cant go buy a new trike for myself... I could go buy a new chainsaw and with no instuctional training or test I could go fall a tree on myself or cut my leg off... would the saw be to blame?

its good to teach everyone riding all about safety.how to turn correctly, wear safety gear, and have awareness about your riding terrain,i,e.dont go balls out in an area your not familiar with.

If he had tested a 4 wheeler in the same manner it would have flipped also, you can make any machine flip over if you rigged it up like he had done. The ATC should have never been banned but they may be making them again in the future, atleast that is what Honda rep had told me a couple months ago.

^That is if the ban gets removed (which it will). We just need to rally up support, seems like nobody seems interested in getting the ban lifted and sticking it to them.

That's because most of us are realists and know that it will never happen. I always hate to be the downer in these threads but it's been discussed a million times, 3-wheeler sales were down a huge amount before the ban and 4-wheeler sales were way up. It's not just the CPSC that thinks trikes are dangerous but the general public. And you know this just as well as any of us Xpress, your friend said you can't ride a 3-wheeler on his property because they are too likely to flip (which isn't true as we all know). How many times have you had someone say "those are dangerous" or "aren't those illegal?" If everyone wanted new trikes TPC would be making a lot of money right now.

Trikes will not be coming back into production.

I like how you say it like it's fact. I never said my friends won't let me ride on their property because they can flip, they did say that I was going to kill myself because they can flip. The funny thing is, now after having ridden around with my friends, they're totally game for trikes now, and one of my friends is now looking for a 200x, because he likes the way mine handles.

And CPSC did say they didn't find any instability issues with them either. A modern trike would look more appealing to a lot of people, not to mention no matter WHERE you go, you're always the one getting the good attention with your trikes (especially if they're clean). A couple years ago when I brought out my 110 to a recreational area, lots of people came up to me and were checking it out.

I'll quote you from your other thread found here: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthr...ads&highlight=

"I should also mention that their dad got angered enough at me for just saying that "Trikes aren't any more dangerous than the rider who rides them" to where he kicked me off from ever going there again..."

I know you like to be optimistic and that's good but trikes will not be back in production, we are a VERY small group of people that love trikes, 90% of the people I talk to think I am an idiot for riding one and always say "you're gonna kill yourself on that thing." I wish they would make trikes again but are you gonna fork over $8-9,000 for a new one? Nope. ATV sells are wayyyyy down right now let alone if they sold a vehicle with such a negative stigma as a 3-wheeler (an un-fair stigma).
