Potential Tecate deal

I normally won't post something like this until the deal is sealed, but I'm all fired up and I couldn't resist.

So my buddy sends me a message saying he knows somebody with a Tecate for sale for $300. I figure it's probably another good parts bike and maybe I'll go take a peek. I asked him to get me some details and he gets back to me saying it's an 88 two stroke Kawi trike. As we all know it's obviously not an 88 but I take that as a good sign because it tells me they have no idea what they have. Could be an 84, could be an 87, who knows? All I do know is it runs and rides so I'm pumped. He's supposed to get back to me ASAP so I'll put up some pictures once I grab it, if I do end up with it. Have the trike gods been looking down on me? I'm keeping my fingers crossed....

Well who says its not a 88 Tecate 3 wheeler with the t4 counter ballancer motor? Everyone seems to forget about kawie and yamaha. Its hard not to react to a tecate. Seen one forsale in the maritimes and got a little excited. We need some pics even if you dont get it.

I get excited when I see Tecate's for sale in my area. I haven't come across any deals like that though. Most of the Tecate's for sale around here the people think they are plated in gold. It's especially funny when I call them and they try to school me on Tecate information (that is usually wrong). I've only found 1 real good deal in my area was the 85 I picked up with ported KX cylinder, motoplat ignition, works shock, +2 durablue swingarm, +6 axle, and a CEET seat for $500. Besides the guys I met at Wal-Mart who picked up 3 Tecate's, KX cylinder, Frank's swingarm, and 2 boxes of parts for $40. That deal hurt considering it was only a few miles from my house. That was the first time I've left my phone number on someone's truck with Tecate's in the back and on a trailer to talk to them. I call him occasionally to see if he will sell them but I made the mistake of telling him what the swingarm abd cylinder were worth, now he wants a fortune for them. Oh well, lesson learned.

So is this your next project (500 kxt?) or a parts and finance trike?, remember, I need a motor , no really, nab all that you can to preserve some more fabiodriven, I feel the Tecate's are growing in popularity, guys on other sites are adding them to there stable even if they are honda, or dirtbike, or quad guys, I think you Tecate guys got the word out.

yea I want that I been wit honda all my life but out of all of them I heard kawi is the fastest in mid-range and topend it beats the other bikes by 3hp
