Going to look at a barn find tomm

Got in contact with a guy who has a 1983 200e thats been in storage for about 10 years. It got put in there when a 4 wheeler was bought. Going to look at it tomorrow. Looks to be in pretty good shape from the pictures. Anything took check from sitting so long? What would be a reasonable price?

If the engine isnt locked up there is a good chance you can at least get it to run,but as I am sure you know,after sitting that long you should go through the whole trike,fuel system,inspect the wiring(check the grounds!!)see if the tranny at least shifts.As far as price I am the wrong guy to ask because if I see a beat up old trike, I think I have to save it,I own three as of today they are addictive,but if you really want it these things are cheap I dont think a couple hundrerd bucks is too much,but thats just my opinion

check to see if the tank is rotted on the inside first, and check to see if the tranny at least shifts. if these two check out 150-250 offer him a hundred at first. throw a little BS at him tell your looking a 150$ to get it up and running. it don't hurt to try.

I went to look at it tonight. Plastics are all there, front and rear racks, foot gards. Gas tank is spotless inside. We added some gas and it fired right up and drove around. Carb is gummed up though. Looks to be in fairly good shape. I'm picking it up tomm night. Payed $260

Right on...that's awesome...good ol' barn finds!
I'm trying to get the same thing (1983 200e) off a guy close by right now...hopefully $240 all said and done...he said yes to my offer, but now he seems to think it's worth more like $300...grrrrrrrr....I hate that...especially when I know I'll have to sink some money into it.

Got her home tonight. Seller was riding it around the farm when I got there lol. They must of prepped the trike for storage because it will start right up and idle all day long. Even though the carb leaks.

cool. great machines, absolute brute of a puller. I am surprised the tank was spotless inside with all that rust elsewhere.

Powerwashed it tonight cleaned up pretty good.

Few issues though.
Smokes Poss Stuck Ring? Anyone know of a good chem I can soak the piston threw the plug hole with
Shifter doesnt return? Broken Somthing?? Still shifts threw all gears both high/low
Short someplace for the electric start blows the fuse on the red wire as soon as installed.

Other wise has great power and runs smooth without touching the carb.

How bad does it smoke? I would take the plug out, fill it up with Marvel Mystery Oil and let it sit for a day while you look up the price for replacement rings on Ebay.

When it still smokes, you can order the rings and call it good.

It smokes enoughf to smell it. Ill try the marvel mystery oil.
