Here is closeup picks of his Westcoast. Seems to be missing the cast dogbone mount. I dont recall westcoast making a Tecate swinger like this.

I wounder if that was a erly or late model of the swing arm. The one I bought brand new many years ago did have the cast dog bone mount.

Yeah, I've seen both. I do wonder if the aluminum dogbone mount would be weaker or more susceptible to rust by water getting in the bolt holes. That said I would rather have the adjustability of the aluminum dogbone mount, I think they look cooler too. sixpackrt has 2 in the tecate groups section and one of them (chrome) looks like it rusted from the inside out. I bought my 84 in 86 or 87 with the Westcoast on it, so I assume mine is one of the early models.

My dogbone mount was in good shape. A bentifit for AZ parts . I know the cast aluminum is strong because I jumped my orginal Tecate all the time and never had a issue with it. I wonder if you have two holes on the bottom of yours where it might of had a cast mount at one time. It would be easy to weld cromemoly steel mounts to the swinger if the cast one broke.
