I totally agree i would never buy maier crap. There nothing compared to OEM. I totally forgot about fullbore till you meantioned it. I just went to the fullbore website and emailed them saying that I thought they should produce plastic for the 1985-86 ATC 350x,250R and 200x. The market is definitly there since honda discontinued them years ago i dont know why fullbore dont do it.

What confuses me is Brad paid for a mold and a certain number of pieces.

You've managed in a short time to reproduce the headlight and now maybe the rear/front fender for a 86/87 200X without any mold cost??

Your efforts are well recognized.

The Maier white isn't that bad but better is great! Keep up the good work and the smooth talking seems to be working; I have no idea why..................

Tell them to do FULL SETS!! (Shrouds/Front Fenders/Headlight?/and their own rear or an OEM style) of plastic for the 85/86R and im in! I called them years ago and told them they would sell more of the ATC fenders if they offered the rest of the peices. Sounds like it fell on deaf ears. Cant see buying a rear unless it was an EXACT color match to the other items regardless of who made it. Nice they offer it. But I think it would be worth their while to complete the set.
Like mentioned above, Maier is good. But better is well... Better! HH

Yes they have 85-86 ATC250R rear fenders in the TRX style FYI. You can contact fullbore at fullboreplastics@msn.com

Beleive me I was suprised they will be doing this at no cost for the mold. I think they have an idea that there might be some market for new better ATC plastics, espessially the 86 200X case, no one makes them. I am sure they will sell enough to cover costs and then some in the long run. I agree with the fenders, I think fullbore may be able to produce the brake cable guide for the front fender , we will see. This might take some time maybe a few months or more. The headlight case will be about a month ,can't wait to see it myself.

If anyone wants fullbore to make other plastics like the ATC250R ATC350X , you will first need a donor OEM Honda part so they can duplicate it. Then you need to see if there is a market for it but I think there is for these models myself. Still you might need some kind of number to give to fullbore to see how many are interested here on 3WW. Then send your donor part to them, that's what I have done. I think they would sell good on eBay also. Maybe everyone should email them asking for certain plastics. that might open their eyes to make even more plastics for the ATC's .The more of us who show interest in their product the better chance we can have more quality parts.

Fullbore has always made that rear fender for the 85-86R..Yes it mimics the TRX rear fender.
You dont have to wait, You can call them today and order it.

I am also confused as well.
We talked to them about Z plastics a few years ago and I would have had to front the mold cost as well..
I can only figure that the economy is so tight right now, that maybe they are willing to do almost anything to make a few bucks, even if that includes fronting the mold cost.

I like their plastic, but mixing colors between the 2 manufactures wont work unless you are talking red, white and black.They will be close with Maier..
The other colors probably will be quite different between the 2 companies.

Also, they told him that the headlight shell would have no rivets for the brackets..
This also is very interesting, until now, no-one has been able to make these headlight shells 1 piece without rivets or screws holding the headlight brackets on.
Maybe they found a way

Some of you may be worried about having ribbets for the headlight mount that was injection molded into the headlight case, don't worry it will NOT have ribbets , the headlight shells will have a bright red color much to the liking of a brighter red , it will not be a dark Maier red color I promise you that and the white rear fender should match just fine with you Maier front fender and shrouds. We are taking this one step at a time. the headlight case first the rear next then the rear fender, I plan on having the CABLE GUIDE molded just like the original front fender for the 86 -87 200X but the fender maybe a little more expencive than the Maier, somewhere around 100 maybe less we hope. but it will have a better oem look to it. This can be done and will.

I just got off the phone with Fullbore about the 86atc rear fenders. Here is what they say: They are $250 plus $75 shipping to me in La. Their red will not match any red. Their red is a red-gold pearl. They do ther own and do not try to match anyone. Also, they are considering doing the whole set so your front will match the back, and they are also considering a one piece tank cover/shroud set to cover old tanks. He said we would be looking at $600.00 for a front to back color change set. They are open to doing different molds now that the demand is comming back, as oem sets are dissapearing and people are not satisfied with Maier. The guy I talked to was super nice and knew of 3WW and appreciated all of us 3 wheeler guys.

Supurb!! 600 BUCKS is not bad concidering you get all the plastic! They may need some good used Donors to make replicas of any ATC part , 85-86 atc250r 350X etc.

The tank covers is nice and all but why cant they just make front and back fenders and shrouds to match??

I'm very glad that you've put forward so much effort. I've said it before and will again, the tank shrouds we have available now for the 86/87 reproduced, fit and finish are spot on for guys just looking for shrouds.

Honestly, I'd never want a tank cover on a metal tank. Pull em out, bondo them up and paint them.

The matching fenders I'm down with but I honestly think all OEM copies are too much, you have to break up the colors somewhere.
