so I have a yamaha 225 dx and cant seem to get the float just right if I park it on a slope it starts over flowing and will fill my air cleaner box quickly and with out remorse went through two full tanks of fuel that way and really want to ride it, have the book on here but not sure where to measure from for the height, and or if there is something wrong with the shut off manually checking it by blowing seems to work fine.

Even if the float isn't set just right, i don't think it should leak that badly.
I would go to Yamaha and order a new float needle and seat before anything else. I know that they still sell them because I almost bought one recently for my YT225 but ended up not needing it.
thanks I have been seriously considering that it is the float needle, there is a small ring on the rubber but by all respects it looks almost new, this is a major hair puller
