so your going to take a pipe off a motor with different bore and stroke configuration and make it better than a pipe built for the motor its on????? by cutting it up and changing it???? ok,,,, do you have a formula to use or a hacksaw?

well, like i said before, my brother did the build, which included the reed choice. I dont want to get into bashing this brand or that. All i know is 1dir was very supportive when he had premature reed petal wear on the initial set, and they promptly sent him 2 sets of petals free of charge. And they seem to work very well. Not that i have anything against V-Force, i run a set of VF-3s in my sled and they work fine for me. Careful how much stock you put in V-Force too though. i dont know about their wheeler/bike setups, but in the sled world, their carb boots dont last for crap. I guess they all have one problem or another.

Kasey: i hear what you are saying too and agree completely

Mosh: thanks for taking the time to post all that good info up. i appreciate it. and you are right on the money as to my engine being kind of a low end torquer with real good mid that signs off on top...good call! I think i will be looking into the ESR pipe when i get the porting done and use the FMF setup on the stock project R i am working on

Ok Chopdunksplit: you can have your thread back!

I was thinking the same thing when I bought my R it had a hacked husky 250 pipe on i looked cool but it was like a inframe drag pipe, great for wide open only not a good idea.........
