    350x connecting rod play

maybe the real question is "is there to much play" ive never went through an atv engine like this before so before i jump out and spend the money or even split cases i thought i would get some advice from the experts. what im concerned about is the wobble you se in the video "top goes left bottom goes right"

or is that going to be fine once i get the new cylinder back on it.

Does it have play straight up and down? How many thousandths of an inch feeler gauge can you fit between the rod and the crank?

there is no up and down play but a connecting rod should only be able to move left and right with no wobble correct?

Looks normal to me. Once the cylinder is bolted on there will be no side-side play.

Some side to side play is normal. You don't truly know if it is too much or not unless you take a measurement with a feeler gauge and compare it to clearance specs in the book. Please, just do the measurement while you have the topend still off.

Puggerton, do you have a calibrated eye that can also compensate for video distortion so that you can spec out side to side rod end play? What if he puts money into a fresh topend on that motor and fires it up only to hear bottom end noise? whooops

Yes, my eyes are calibrated. I did have laser eye surgery after all.
