    Steering Bearings

i just recently purchased a 1984 yamaha 225dx in pretty good condition. only issue it looks like i need to take care of to get it going is replace the steering bearing. my question is, is it actually a bearing? reason i ask this is because looking for the "bearing" all i seem to find is bearing parts. do i need to buy the parts and assemble it or can i just buy the whole bearing somewhere? i haven't taken it apart so i'm not sure the overall condition, but that is my next step. thanks in advance for any help or info.

basically you rebuild it to stock and buy the races and ball bearings and assemble it. for my honda somebody sells tapered roller bearings for it aftermarket. maybe you could find that somewhere.

Alright well I took the steering apart last night and it seemed that everything was fine, just loose. I went a head and cleaned out all the old grease, and added new, then put it all back together and tightened it up. Seems to be at 100%, and sure is a lot better than it was before.
