    Tach to adjust rpm

Anybody now where I can get a fairly cheap but accurate tach so I can check the idle rpm on my 185s? The reason for wanting to make sure idle rpm is correct is so I can check the timing.

I have an 8 cylinder clip on style(its a tach and dwell meter), is there some formula I can use to make it read for a 1 cylinder? Thanks.

I got one of those Tiny Tachs and I can use it on all single cylinder engines to check rpms. It was around $50 I think. I originally was trying to find an old bike tach but even beat up ones on eBay went for $20+, and I wasn't sure they would even work.

do it by ear.if you put it in gear and it moves without the throttle than idle is to high.if it stalls than its to low.or have a friend count the revolutions of the motor while the pull start is off.
