put it in neutral till you get rolling then put it in gear, give it a little gas. if its going to start at all it will then.

Wow. I must say, the idiocy in here is reaching epic proportions.

First of all, pop starting the thing is not going to help anything. If you insist on trying to pop start it, at least do it the right way. Getting it rolling and jamming it in first gear is not the way to do it. That's more than likely just going to bring the trike to a halt really fast and possibly damage your transmission. I'm pretty sure the trike you're working on is a semi-auto, right? What you're going to want to do is get the trike into third gear. When clicking the shifter into third gear hold the shifter up once third gear is engaged. Then get the trike rolling and release the shifter once the desired amount of speed is achieved to start the trike. What you are doing here is popping the clutch instead of jamming the transmission in gear.

All of you hacks can treat your own machines the way you want. Is there any way you guys could keep your awful ideas to yourselves instead of infecting young minds with your ignorance please?

Personally, I suggest fixing your problem with the trike so it starts with the starter.

how much are you pulling the starter before you check the plug for fuel? pull it 4 or 5 times with the choke on. if the plug is wet with fuel, id think youre getting enough. Also, cup your hand over the intake and pull it two or three times with the choke on. if your hand is wet, your geting fuel to the carb at least. Not having battery shouldnt affect how it runs. Is your plug gapped correctly? Have you checked the coil ground? make sure all your connections are clean. Theres not a whole lot to go on here...
