    250sx no spark!!

I have absolutley no spark on my 250sx. i was using it one day came home washed it down and went to go start it the next day and it had no spark at all. If anyone knows something i could check i would really appreciate it as i am not good with electrical work on these. I want it running again by winter cause that's when i ride the most any help at all is greatly appreciated. Thank You.

check the oem manual for the ignition system, try disconnecting battery and and check pulse generator then at last resort unhook kill switch after that cut the very end off of spark plug wire where the 90 deg connects and attatch two wire off of stator and alternator to a vehicle light and see if it lights up when you pull start it, also do an ohm test on cdi manual should inform you how to do it here is a direct link to manual http://www.oscarmayer.net/atc/manual...vicemanual.pdf

Follow the power in that book, if it turns over but no spark then it's easier to diagnose. You could have just got something wet and it's grounding.

The SX breaks wires at the battery box where the CDI mounts, I had to unravel all the tape but that was the issue.

I did the same thing, washed it and no spark. messed with it for a few days till I figured that is was the kill switch. moved it back and forth from off-on-off to clean the contacts and it fired right up. Same thing with the Hi-Low beam switch. Be driving along and then on-coming traffic would show up, switch to low beam and the lights would go out. Talk about the "deer in the headlight look"

    Hope this helps! Westy

I usually wash the mud off my stuff while its running.

After a ride, let it COOL off, restart and then carefully spray small sections at a time.

if it chokes, I know generally where to look for problems and better to have them crapout in the driveway than
in a ditch in the dark
