a few problems with my 85 250es.. need help
ok.. well i just took my bigred to grandlake yesterday and descovered a few problems.
first off, the entire front assembly, when i hit a bump, moves back and forth.. (its hard to explain but i hope someone understands), how do i fix that?
then i have a very small amount of oil leaking out around the shifter shaft..
and my three wheeler isnt charging my battery. if i sit there idleing all the lights are bright, but as soon as i get on the throttle the lights dims.. what would that be? the magnito is what ive been told it is.. but i dont know anything about electrical.
and last of all, the elctric start doesnt work, i figured it was the starter, but if i try to use the electric start its not the starter clicking. its around the solonoid.. so does that mean my solonoid is out?
sorry for all the questions, i know nothing about 3 wheelers. or working on them.. thanks for all the possible help.

Clicking at the solenoid is good. Youre getting power there. Plobably bad brushes in the dtarter motor. Pretty common and easily fixed with a $25 rebuilt kit off ebay.
Front end bubping around sounds like loose or missing or worn steering stem bearings and/or races.
Prolly a seal bad around the shifter shaft.

thanks.. so if i replace the races, should i go ahead and replace all the races and bushings in that assembly?
and to replace the seal do i have to remove the whole shaft or can i just slip it over the shaft?
