fuel filled crankcase
bought a spraypainted 85 br
nasty oil leak, oil everywhere except in the crankcase.
got it home, parked it.
a couple days later, I checked the oil and it was up!!!
looked funny, a little thin and the gas tank was empty.
well
apparently, the tank vent was clogged and the pressure in the gas tank wwent up, forced gas into the engine, past the shutoff, and found it's way into the crankcase after a couple days.
good thing I didn't fire it up and rev it! with gas where the oil should be.
switch off, gas off is hard for lots of people to understand until they have to fix something catastrophic....like me!

had the same issue with an sx i bought, i had it on the lift with the rear end a little higher than the front, pulled the dipstick, and gas/oil came firing right out!! there had to be over a gallon of gas mixed with the oil. I did start and drive it before purchase. I just drained it all, ran some cheap oil throughit for a few hours, drained it again, filled it with new honda oil, and a new filter, it has ran like a top for me. gas probably cleans the engine out pretty good, as long as your seals and such wernt affected it should really not be an issue.
