Lifan / Loncin 200cc Generator Output

I have an OVH Loncin 163FML engine for my 200x. Anybody have any specs on the generator output capacity for these things?

I will be mounting a pair of Hella 500s on a baja light bar and I'm toying with different wiring ideas. I'd like to run both 55w headlights at the same time along with an LED tail light and whip light.

Also, it looks like I have 2 options for wiring. Either I can tap into the un rectified AC source or run the lights off the battery and use the DC side to power the lights and charge the battery.

    Any insights here?

    Interesting.
I have the black version of your engine. I've been through your 185s upgrade thread a few times.

I guess I'll wire up the lights and see what happens.

I think I'll grab one of the little box voltage regulators and run the lights off the AC output before the Loncin regulator/rectifier. My theory is it will reduce the load on the Loncin piece that's primarily responsible for charging the battery right now.

Check out this thread & my last post there. I'm guessing the lifan stator should be similar.

Great thread! Nice work on the stator re-wrap.

I think the Loncin/Lifan motors use a multi-pole stator. I guess I could pull my cover and see what's in there.

    Mulit-pole should be easier.

FYI - no problem keeping the battery charged with both 55W lights + tail on. Very cool!

yeah, my Lifan 125 blew out a bulb or 2 before I started reading about rectifiers!

ok look, the dual bigger lights use more than the engine was designed for, so I recommend takign your stator and getting it rewound by rickystators to be sure you have enough to supprot it. if not end result is a burned out lighting coil and your on the side of the road w/o lights at night.
