200x kicker problem

Heya guys, my 200x will make a racheting sound about half of the time that i kick it over. Anyone know whats the problem, and how to fix it? When it makes the noise, it dosnt really kick, just makes like a spinning-clicking noise. Well, any input helps, thanks again!

hi Levithan.
i can't remember if i asked you this b-4 or not so i'll just ask again.
do you have a shop manual for your x ??? if not , i can send you some pages from mine dealing with the kicker.
i know there are a couple of thrust washers that are critical. hmmmm,,,
works about half the time ,,, hmmmm.

What year is your 200x? it wouldn't happen to be an '83 would it?

Its an early '84. That would be great if you could send me those diagrams, that might lemme know what the problem is. Also, my engine has quit on me! my uncle is gonna see what the problem is, but i know its not the CDI box cuz i just bought a new one for it. It wont Spark! He seems to think its the magneto, but anyways, thanks again!

Levithan, i am gonna send you the 3 pages dealing with the "outside" kicker gears and hope to heck it is in there you find your troubles. if not in the right side outer case area ,,, ummmm bad news my freind,,, you'll hafta crack the motor open to get to the rest of the kicker gear parts.
so ,,, start simple right ??? pm'ing you the copys so i don't plug up the main page.
if you + your uncle need specs on coil or eletrical stuff in genral ,,, just ask.
