Good luck with the sale Andy. Good choice choosing family over toys. A couple years back I sold a car that said I never would sell as we had our first on the way and the money could be used for better things.

    Thanks!
Whats funny k10, is I remember hearing this story about you and your friends driving 8 hours, from him when I was trying to buy a "mint" low hour 88 250r. The steering stem was bent, the grab bar and rear frame was tweaked bad. The rear tires were holesots, not ohtsu's. These were just some of the Fishy signs that steered me away. The pics he sent of those 250rs looked awesome, and im sad to hear they arent what he said they are. Fishy for sure. Sounds like your a straight up dude. I got to tell you after reading that post about me on exriders I was pissed big time. I did respond, it isnt kind and I apologize.

This is just too cool. I remember as a kid seeing these crates in shelves at the dealership the day I got my 200x. My only hope- other than hitting the lottery before 10-11 at 12:00 pdt- is that the next guy that ends up with this is as good a person as Andy seems to be. Good Luck!

The feelings mutual. I was being a bit of a pansy yesterday here and especially over at exriders.
I'm sorry for the strike on your good name and my jumping to conclusions. Water under the bridge as they say. (I hope)
I'm glad you put me in my place. Everyone needs to get knocked down at times. Maybe my head was getting too big. Can't wait till this is all over!
Wow... I'm glad you shared you experience, and had the smarts unlike me to walkaway. Thanks James!
Please except my apology as well !

Well now now, I'm not feeling so bad about yesterday!(LOL)
OMG this has got me laugh'n! Noth'n better than a good argument when your not the one involved.
    The heat's off me...................... Wahoo.
No, seirously. Lets all get along. (still laughing......)
No winners or loosers here just all hav'n fun I hope!
I think you two are kidding??? Hope so???
Anyway I don't know if it's the six pack here or just a good round of poking fun at one another. Too funny!

Really How could you be serious minty. I mean... Mike has done museum stuff.
    Don't know what to say........
I know when I saw his work I knew I had to step up my game. Not to be in competition, (cuz nobody calls me for a full on restos, just some PC stuff on occasion), but for my personal projects and satisfaction! Mike is the guy to call for #1 grade A restoration. I could never do what he's done! Been tempted to use his services on a couple things for my bikes.

Like yesterday I was wrongly accusing someone in the open. Not cool. PM mike if you have a beef with him. Learn from my mistake.
Just came in for a beer.
    Later, guys.

I'm not gonna litter andy's thread with a discussion of what is and isn't the holy grail. look in the open forum for that thread.

"holy grail" is up to each and every person who is a fan of these little motorbikes. This 250r is certainly close to the "holy grail" for those who collect the finest examples of ATC history.

For some, it might be a Selvy 200r, for others, it might be a roached out 200s or atc 110.

Money spent on these items is an emotional spend -what pushes your buttons? Those who have it are free to spend it as they please, and free to buy up whatever vestiges of the past they want to...I think this auction is great, and establishes a precedent for the upper end collection market for ATC's, which is a fairly loose.

The more this bike sells for, the better. And for all those folks who seem upset or "just dont get it", then dont worry about it!

This isnt a bike that you need to think or worry about...but i am glad to see such strong interest towards this.

It will be interesting to see the final price, as well as whatever else comes out of the woodwork. I would guess there are others out there, but they are likely in the hands of folks who dont give a rats ass about ATC's (and thus done read this forum or travel in these social circles), but perhaps used to own a dealership or have some tie to the motorcycle business.

Good luck luck buster brown! I hope you kill it!

Congrat's BB, I hope the last minutes of the auction produces a double up in the current bid. I've never seen anything like this or this kind of $$$ but I've seen many that went crazy in the final minutes and I hope this on does too.
