Yea unfortunately I believe that a lot of the bidding is people trying to see where the reserve is and/or will back out. Buster I bet you'd make more and have a more reliable seller outside of ebay.

Who would ever think selling something would get so complicated. The last few posts bring up good points. I would stick with it at this point only because i'd be curious to see where it goes. If a serious buyer does contact you and can show they have money then unload it.

It's just an item. Can't get attached to it. You won't be attached to the money when it goes to whatever your plans are.

I think this is great to watch and it being so rare to see something like this makes my work day so much better. Plus if it really does sell it says people have money. Bank accounts are filling up and people are getting ichy to spend like they use too even though it's pretty bad out there for many people.

I agree with you. Without getting to specific out of respect for the potential buyer, he or she's profile says they're from: United Arab Emirates and have been a member since 10/02/10. I thought of making members with a rating less than 10 prequalify, but this may shy them away as well, being hassled or insulted. I've had people call as far as Dubai. I'm amazed at the interest, but will wait to see who really has honest true intentions at the end. I may simply just keep this thing if my reserve is met and the winning bidder fails to fallow through. Just sit on it and ponder......then weed through the many calls of interest down the road. Who knows. I think my mind is getting the better of me here and I should sit back, calm down and enjoy the ride. I'll try to keep my comments brief and few here until this is over. Again, hope the many good people here can understand.
Thanks for all the kind words of congrats and helpful advise!

For $35,000 + could one go locally where the bidder lives and file a lawsuit for breach of contract? Say you went to Southeby's auction and bid on everything, I think you would still be responsible for the debt or at least damages for the inconvenience. But, the reserve is not met yet?

Anyway, wow is that thing expensive! You could buy a house and a car in Michigan for that much.

Thanks, Mike. I really appreciate your heads up. I thought of calling you in regards to that gentleman, but well...... This is my battle to deal with and I didn't want to bother you. If this auction gets real ugly I may pull the plug. The big players will have saved my phone #. I have that guy's info from Dubai saved too. He was a treat to talk with. Again, thanks for the help! This is getting a bit overwhelming for a nubie seller of this caliber.

your welcome . yea its a little overwhelming sometimes with this stuff and im sure you know by now all the haters will come out , alot of people out there dont like to see other people be succesfull at something and they want to express it . your right the people interested have your number bidding or no bidding they will contact you , a 7 day auction might have been better also to end it faster , you will be good .

    take care Mike

Have you seen some of the cars they wreck and just walk away from? Unfortunately the 250r would be just a drop in the bucket to some of those oil tycoons!

I think this is awesome. I hope you make a great profit and can fund some killer builds with part of the proceeds. I'm glad that it was brought to our attention here so we could watch and speculate on the outcome. I'm sure that anyone who has that kind of money to spend will do more than just send an email and once you talk to them I'm sure your gut will tell you if you're dealing with a dreamer or someone who can't back up the bid. I've heard of some gun sales going to men in Aribd nations that was 2x what they would have brought in the US ( some of those guys like rare western guns as well ). I feel that just by watching the auction, I'm witnessing history in the making. It's not something I would buy, even if I had the money. I'm not a collector but it still excites me to see. I'm one of the watchers but I couldn't even dream of being a bidder. Once again, I wish you the best of luck and I hope it brings $100K.
