    Finally got my Tiger

Got the frame and rear fender for the tiger 250 i purchased today. Got everything in except the exhaust, FT fender and two small brackets. Put part of it together to get a idea of what it would look like. Still have a lot of stuff to get for it, but a lot of the tiger only stuff is already there. I know the guy i got it from is a site member but i don't know if he wants to be know or not yet. If the other guy he was dealing with backs out i am going to get another tiger from him, but it is only a frame and tank. I wanted one to fix up and one to be used more often. I plan on riding mine, both if i get them.

That frame is beefy! Love the triples, too. You should make a plug for the fenders to reproduce them. Congrats!

The frames aren't near as beefy as you think. Also, there are already plugs for the front and rear fenders as well as the number plate and the radiator scoop. I don't know what kind of shape your engine is in, but parts are still available, yet some are costly. The part I think people need now are the brake discs. I know my front is warped. There have been inquiries to a big company or 2 to produce some discs, but no luck. It would be cool to find a place with a water table who could make us some discs in a run as the fronts and rears appear to be the same. But it would be such a small run that it may be hard to get a decent price. I talked to someone about a run of discs, but have lost some emails since then.

I hope you have another box of parts somewhere, cause I see some bits are missing. I don't see your rear bearing carrier, which I'm missing a second carrier as well. I may have to get a carrier made myself. No front hub or front caliper mount either. The front hubs are made from welded up trailer hubs though! And it shouldn't be too hard to fab up a front caliper mount. Also you can still get new pipes made, I think jemco still has the templates to do a 250 pipe, but that's been a while ago. And I almost forgot. Congrats on the Tiger. The doggone 250s have "light switch" power bands though!!!!

I feel like i am very luck to have this in my collection. I always wanted one growing up, my dad was always a big red machine man and was solid 4 stroke all the way. I have been in contact with the owner for several months before he decided he had one he wanted to let go.

I talked to blue27 about some fenders already incase i get the other frame and tank like i want to. Besides what is in the picture the FT fender, exhaust, and two aluminum brackets are the only thing i have for it that i know will fit. I have been reading a lot on the tigers here on this board and collecting info and pictures as i go. I don't have any engine parts except the exhaust and radiator. So i have been keeping a sharp ebay and craigslist out for one that will work. I hope to pick up some tips along the way of some other parts that can be made to fit or will just bolt right up on it. If that is true about the disk brakes i have a machine shop connection i am going to have to talk about in copying the one i have then.

I just had someone pm me some info that I will be checking out. I have some Tiger engine parts. LOL I have a couple rear axles, narrow though. There are some other rear axles that will work. Your rear bearing carrier will have to be made though. The seat foam and cover are 200x, but you will need a seat base and the bolt base as well. Blue27 pretty much built my whole Tiger, so he has tons of info. He practiced on mine so he can get his 200 going! LOL The seat bases were either aluminum or the ABS plastic. Blue27 had a fiberglass base made for my seat on my Tiger now. As far as engine parts, pretty much all is available, pistons are expensive. You have your work cut out for you. But they are pretty easy to redo. Mine has been gone through from the ground up. Every nut and bolt and everything powdercoated, but the tank which was painted. You'll have some cake tied up in it, especially with it not being complete. And then you may need even more parts for the 2nd Tiger. My 2nd Tiger 250 is a center mounted rear shock. Oh yeah, the correct shocks are real hard to find as well. And several of us are always on the hunt for them, so kind of competive for that. LOL The electronics may be a pain to find as well, but my Tiger came with tons of extras, just not sure if all of them are good. Which reminds me, I have to get a box of engine bits sent out to a guy in Utah before he holds my new Tow'd body hostage! LOL Sorry Harry. All the Tiger owners on here also contributed alot to my Tiger build. A good bunch of people. Now when are you getting a 500?!!!

I would love to have a 500, just have to see if it is in the cards one day. Here are some shots of some of the Hondas i have now. Three of them have been in the family since new.

I took these pictures earlier today, there are three more not in these pictures. I didn't have the keys to my dad's shop handy. Plus me and dad together have a TON of other Honda parts put up. Also on my hit list of trikes to get is a 250r, 250sx and a 200x, but they will be later on.

Sweet. Another one! Congrats man! They are a blast. I took my running 200 to the dunes a couple weeks ago. Let a few guys romp it around camp. I try to ride it once a month or more. Its ran flawlessly since I got it. Kicker Shaft seal decided to start leaking on me now though. So I gotta fix that... Oh and pat. Im workin on that crate. Got all the materials today, just need to gather up some padding and a bunch of shrink wrap. And it will be good to go.

Did someone mention brake rotors? Heres some im working on. The pic is from my cell phone. So it wont resize... I'll try to get better ones tomorrow or sunday. Not a 100% OEM Copy. My freind with the waterjet decided to tweak it a little. But it still turned out amazing. HH
