    1986 Honda 200s Idle Problem!

Ok...This old thing use to be my dad's and now it is mine . I am trying to slightly restore it but a main problem is that it wont idle correctly. I just rebuilt my carb with new jets and a float and stuff which solved one of my other problems but the idle problem has persisted since my dad first bought the machine from someone a long time ago. In neutral i can adjust the idle screw and it will idle semi-okay but will shut off a little bit after running. If i get it to the correct idle in neutral, once in gear it will barely idle then shut off. Which is a big problem when going down hill and your machine turns off...it is annoying. The other problem is that to get it to idle in gear and not shut off i have to screw in the idle screw pretty far and when it is in neutral it idles extremely high like it is at full throttle. It's is just really annoying and i want to have a nice idle in neutral and be able to ride around my hunting camp going downhill without it shutting off. Can anyone please help? Suggestions?

I have the same problem with 2 of my machines. Seems like the problem is on the piston inside the carb- where the idle adjustment screw rests, it begins to punch into the piston unevenly, so when you try to get the bike to idle, it just won't.

The fix is a $30 carb off of ebay

I've missed the 'w' clip that holds the needle down inside the piston.
If it flips sideways, the needle will settle wherever it wants.

    Super easy 2 check.
