1983 Big Red wheel bolt pattern question/ wheel spacers, 4x150mm

I'm sure some of the forum members here, have had this problem before; maybe I can get some advice.

I use a 1983 200e, Big Red on the farm; it still works great. I would like to add some width to the rear track, via wheel spacers. I already have 3 new Carlisle tires mounted and on the Big Red.

I thought I would just add a set of 1 1/2" wheel spacers, to the rear. Well, I have the unpopular 4x150 bolt pattern; which by my records was used only on ATC 185/200 Big Red, yr 80-84; ATC 200m, thru 1985; and TRX 200 1984.

Nobody is currently making wheel spacers in 4x150, that I know of. I know other Honda rear hubs will interchange; but that means new rims and remounting the new tires.

Any suggestions? Anybody have a set of 4x150 spacers?

    Thanks in Advance

You could use wheel stud extenders, bolt pattern doesnt matter with these and they are cheaper. Of course, they are probably way less solid and durable than regular spacers but if you dont plan on hitting big jumps or putting lots of weight on the axle, I guess they would work just great.

I dont know what your stud size is, but I think this stud size is really common.

I run those on most of my machines for about 2 years not, they hold up great I havnt had a single problem. Your studs are smaller, I had one machine like that I just banged the old studs drilled bigger holes in the hubs and rims and put the correct size grade 8 bolt in for the spacers.

What do you mean when you say '' your studs are smaller''? 200e studs are smaller or my SX studs are smaller?
I havent received them yet but I've read that the would fit directly with the stock studs on my SX.

The 200e studs and some 185s studs are the smaller diameter studs.

I saw those on ebay, I just have a question as to whether they will be strong enough. Or rather, will my stock hubs be strong enough.

You only have the surface of the extender stud, matching up to the hub and the wheel. This Big Red only has 10mm wheel studs Wait, I didn't check that, but I will. The stock hubs don't seem too stout; and those early wheels sometimes even broke out at the stud hole..

Thanks for posting and let me know how they work out for you.

I dont think that your hubs will take any damage from those extenders. What I think might broke or bend is either the axle or stock studs. Broken stock studs isnt a costly damage but bent axle might give you more headaches. Older chain driven BR are way lighter than the ''newer'' 250cc shaft driven BR. That said, I think they would hold up great on the old BR even might on the heavy ones if you dont plan on jumping.
I'll keep you updated when I'll receive them (I'm guessing 1 week)

I guess my post was a little confusing. I have 4 atcs running these spacers, 2 have had them for over 2 years. No issues.

I have had the on my sons ATV and my ATC s for over 3 years now easily. We have beat up them quite a bit and done jumps about 3-4 ft off the ground.. Haven't had a problem with them yet. I have to order another set soon for my 250sx.

Your splines will accept 450r hubs... they have extra spacing built in. Couple that with wheels with a 3x5 offset, and you'll get quite a bit of stability and width.
