More than likely there is a glob of JB weld or something on the case. Its common for people to rig them like that unless they get them tig welded. Clean the case off really good around and take a look.
i don't think it been jb welded or tig welded its clean all the way around . the upper part is not stuck i can open it a bit and c in the engine but on the under side i cant open it
..........you forgot a bolt.

+1 seized on a dowel pin... maybe try pb blaster and a rubber mallet
Mine fought me a few weekends ago when i installed my Goki kit. I thought I had good cases but I found the JB Weld behind the sprocket and I had to work pretty hard to remove the cover without making the damage worse. Take a look behind the sprocket if you haven't yet.
there is no jb weld i Araby check
there should be 12 bolts that you took out. if not that is the problem. the dowel pins are in the upper right and the middle/lower left. if it is stuck at the bottom i am not sure that the dowels are the problem but could be. the only other thing at the bottom is the gasket but if the top is loose the bottom should come off.
TPC Trikes Are Awesome
OOPS, i am thinking the right side. sorry
there should still be 12 bolts on the left side also but the dowels are at the top and at the bottom right.

ya it probably the dowel pin because it on the bottom right
