    1987 atc 250r

hi there, i was just wondering what is the deal with the 1987 atc's? do people believe they were just prototypes? or they never existed?
i tried searching with little luck on what the viewpoint is, i just read the arguement on the holy grail topic about the crated 86, and was a little confused about how they said they never existed? but yet theres lots of supporting evidence? whats the story?

There are a few threads on this subject already but in my opinion, I do know they had a prototype and I think that there was a probability very very low number sold and they were probabaly scraped but who knows one might pop up some day. On the other hand there were no spare parts on Honda's schematics for a 1987 ATC250R ever.,probably because not a one made to show room floors to be sold due to the Bann. I think they only had time to reproduce the 87 200x 87 125m 87 250es big red and by the time they were about to produce the 87 250R ,the Bann came into effect.

i am from canada, and a friend of mine raced back in the 80's, he never heard of 3ww, and had absolutely no reason to lie to me. he said in 87 when they very first came out, he saw 3 of them at the dealer he raced for, he said they were all white and he wanted them bad, but the owner said they were being crated back up and sold in mexico, then it was all about atv's from then on, and he got out of it altogether.

There are plenty of stories on here like that. Nobody's ever got any proof though....

still a myth, yet to be busted or confirmed!!
1985 KXT 250 Tecate - kx cylinder, kx ignition, bassani headpipe, answer silencer, v-force reeds, 38mm airstyker carb, +2 franks swinger, raptor rear shock.

    1996 YSF240 Blaster - maxxed out!!!

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "HOLY SH-T, what a ride!"
