    Cagiva anyone

I'm in the process of restoring my 1986 125wmx Cagiva. A bike that I used to race here in our So Calif. desert. I rode them for 2 years, 84 & 86. These bikes were very inovative for thier time, excell rims, ohlin rear shock, ragina chains, detachable rear subframes. The bikes really never caught on in the US, mainly because of marketing, however if you look up any info on the Europeon Motocross racing circuit in the mid 80's, they were dominate in the 125 class. The 3 wheeler on this page was derived from a 1983 or 84 200wmx. The 200 engine was a 125 motor on steroids, high rpm engine and very fast, unfortunatly it had crank and rod problems. But I'm sure the engine in a 3 wheeler in the 200 class was something special.

the engine in the 3 wheeler was from the cagiva wmx250,it was only a 190cc engine.they called it a 250 though but the 3 wheeler was called a 200.

If you would like to see the bike that the Cagiva 3 wheeler was made from, you can see it here, it's the top picture on the page. The difference between the 125 & 200 (250) was the red seat, the 125 had a grey seat and the 125 had a front drum brake. These are the only pictures that I have been able to find online for these machines.

i have the official write up from tricky dick's.the cagiva 3 wheeler was based on the 83-84 cagiva 250,not the 125.i recently purchased an 84 cagiva 250 and it is an exact duplicate of my 3 wheeler.the only thing different is the subframe which tricky dick's made.
