i was thinking that 1 before i seen the k&n.. was reading that you have to oil it? seems like that would restrict air flow

the K&N needs to be oiled, so does the UNI and MOOSE.....In fact, just about every foam air filter (even oem). The oil is what traps most of the dirt and dust. I think K&N is a good filter, but I don't think it does anything better than a UNI, so why pay more...just my opinion. Kind of like a Harley....doesn't do anything better except empty your wallet faster.

Many threads on this topic. I prefer UNI over K&N. Not for the price difference either..... And they all have to be oiled-BiGDawG.

I use uni filter oil, you can get it at many ATV dealerships or order it from a place like parts unlimited or dennis kirk. The direction on how to oil and clean the filter come with it.

I work at q quad shop and for the basic oil change we just use varsol to clean the filter, put a cloth around it, squeeze and the juice outa her and put a little bit of 10w40 oil in had and rub it all over . The key is don't put too much oil on her... Alittle will go along way.

There is also a product called No Toil Filer oil. Thats what I use on all my stuff, and it is awesome. It comes in an aersol can, and you just spray it on evenly, and your done. You know when to clean the filter when it is all dirty and dingy looking. Once again, no toil comes in handy, as you can also buy a can of cleaning powder, you add about 1/4 cup to about a gallon of water. This stuff works aweswome, and the filter comes out looking new every time, and the water looks black. The cleaning solution is also bio-degradable, and can be dumped right down the drain. The spray on oil also makes the filter waterproof. I think you can wash a no toil filter about 30 times before it wears out. Its great stuff!

another UNI guy here, I use PJ1 air filter oil, I even use PJ1 air filter cleaner. you will need some sort of de-greaser when cleaning to get the old oil off. then soak in water and lightly scrub. then dry and evenly apply a layer of oil. both are in a spray can
