Maybe I should try to use a snowmobile motor? Supposedly a regular centrifigul clutch may not work well in this application, a torque converter may be needed and snowmobile motors use them.

For the last one, the motor was in the passanger seat I've hauled tons of stuff with this car.

Alright..After more thought, I think everyone is right. I should try to fix up the one motor.

Looking at it more closely, the stator cover is fine - it's actually just the shaft cover that broke. I still can't figure out why it broke though. All the bearings inside look/feel/turn fine. Maybe something broke it from the outside..but I'd like to get it figured out before putting the new cover on.. Maybe the cover just gradually wears out.

Or maybe I could try to swap the chain parts from the other motor and use it instead..but I imagine the motors are too different. Haven't eye-balled them too closely yet.

May try to get the motor pulled today.

I would say that if everything looks fine inside the motor, the trike was probaly rolled and bounced off a rock or something, putting the hole in the motor.

heck yours is pretty nice, i just picked one up for 60$ i think its a 200 the guys said he thinks its 125 but it has electric start. front ssupension, and pullstart, with no rear suspension and shaft drive, also says 196cm on the cylinder so i think its a version of the 200 thats hacked to heck.. runs good

1985 big red 250es working good. 1983 200e waiting for new crank and rod. 200x project looking needing everything.
