couldnt ask for better restore candidate. Looks to be complete with the rare parts too. Id try to restore those rear fenders. Nothing like oem rears on those old tecates or go for the 86s plastic on back.

yeah restore the oem's, cant stand the look of the low pro maiers, just plain ugly. 86's work but you have to modify them a little to get them to work.

Although his fenders don't look that bad in the pics, I think they may be a lost cause. They are pretty bad and have been painted over.

Well, Dan and I got a lot done today. We got his cases split and ready to go to the powder coater, and we also got his swing arm 75% done. Dan's going to finish the swinger himself later this week.

Here's Dan having at it with the angle grinder.

We pulled out the welder and it was acting a little funny. I'm not sure why....

Here's the offender. This guy and four of his mates decided Dan's welder was a comfy home for the winter.

After fixing the welder, we started buzzing away.

Dan's still got some more fabbing to do on the swinger. We ran out of time and stock today. He's going to box those two sides right in.

I'm not sure what direction he's heading in the fender department to be honest. I think he's still trying to sort it out as well.

I really can't wait to bring this thing back to the guy we got it from once it's done. The look on his face is going to be priceless.

That's a neat thing right there fabiodriven and TecateDan, I sent pictures to the John (previous owner) of what I did to his (my) Tecate, and he was a previous Tecate racer who ran out of money to finish the build. He was very tickled on the rebuild and also very pleased that I ride it so many hours a week. It's very special feeling and honor, it's the whole point, the whole honor in reviving an incredible machine.
