    Ice racing

After 28 years of 3wheeling I'm going to give ice riding a shot, now how the hell do I set up my tires with studs/screws??? Does it ruin the tires?? Can I take the screws out for the summer??? Any help would be appreciated.

ditch the holeshots, there to soft and studs will rip out of the tires

get some 18x9.5? or even 20" chin shing ice tires, get your self a box of 1k kold kutter ice screws and go to town.. i bleave 286? studs per tire on the 18s.... i run 3/4 or 1'' studs in the rear tires, my 300bb 82 250r would rip 3/4s out now and then, so pretty much yes it will ruin the tires

front tire.. run a line down the middle lugs, you can run a line around the next set of lugs from center or every other lug, id start with every other and see how the front bites the ice and add studs if you need to.

wider axle, or wheel spacers on the rear will help you run harder and faster threw the corners, also lowering the tripple trees down 2-4 inches and settin the rear shock soft to alow it to sit lower will help get the center of gravity lower so you can carry even more speed threw the corners, nerf bars are required by some clubs but not all.. iv never ran nerfs on a trike but it seems they would be a good thing so you can get your inside(cornering) foot off the peg so you can get your body weight lower...
And rejet for the cold and tear it up!!!!!... dont use normal screws of sheet metal screws, hex head sheet metal screws work but bite no where near as hard as kold kutters, iv tried kold kutters and pro golds and the kolds are by far a better stud

Three wheeler guys probably have the biggest balls out of all the ATV/Motorcycle riders. You just have to be a little twisted to ride them, and you have to be a great rider to do so.

Thanks a bunch 4cfed, thats exactly the info I was looking for. Its going to be an interseting transition for me being raised in the AZ desert to riding on a frozen lake, thanks again.
